Words from our Director:
I graduated from Alabama Adult and Teen Challenge in 2012. The road that brought me there was filled with addiction, jails, and rehabs. I started using drugs at the age of 11 and by the start of high school I was a full-blown addict. At the age of 25 I was arrested in Baldwin County Alabama for possession of a controlled substance. I was placed on Drug Court, only I could not stop using. My addiction to prescription pain medication and heroin consumed me and I failed 12 drug tests in a one and a half year time frame. After my last failed drug test, I was held in the county jail for about 4 months. One morning I was called to court unexpectedly. The judge told me that I could either go to prison immediately, or I could have one more chance and go to Teen Challenge. I had been to rehabs before with no results, but I did not want to go to prison. So, I agreed to attend Teen Challenge. While I was there, I was introduced to Jesus and He radically changed my life. Since my time at Teen Challenge, I have had the opportunity to go to Asia on 3 short term mission trips in 5 countries. I graduated from Christ for The Nations Bible College in 2016 and shortly after met my lovely wife, Charlotte Bailey. We were married in 2017 and served as Associate Pastors at a church in Dallas, Texas for almost 5 years. In 2021, we followed the call of God, packed up our family and moved to Alabama to serve as Directors of the Selma Men's Center. God has truly blessed us. I am so grateful that he set me free from Sin and Death and I celebrated 11 years clean on February 11, 2022. God is Great!
